The culture and heritage of Jamdani is being carried through by the weavers of Dhaka, after independence. Currently the largest pool of Jamdani weavers lives in Narayanganj. Also Mirpur has a place called Jamdani Palli where handlooms workshops exist.The Jamdani weavers today have to face lots of structural obstacles and barriers. Without proper governmental incentives and subsidies, this form of art might cede to exist in the upcoming years. New weavers are also not brave enough to deal with the obstacles.
